Wednesday, February 13 PLANETE PAIX organized the first session of its activity called BOOK CLUB at the American Space located at the University Felix Houphouet Boigny Abidjan Cocody.
The BOOK CLUB, which is organized in collaboration with the United States Embassy in CΓ΄te d’Ivoire, is a forum for free exchange and capacity building in LEADERSHIP through exhibition of the enriching content of the books.
The 3 Speakers Mr. Stevens Abbout KODJANE, Mr GOTCHANGA JOB FERRYNEL, Mr BROU Akpolet Casimir allowed the participants to integrate the techniques of the NEW MANAGER MINUTE of KEN BLANCHARD and SPENCER JOHNSON. They have not only learned to have Minute Objectives, but to send Congratulations Minutes and Minute Recadrages to their collaborators. . In addition, they now know through HOW TO DEVELOP ITS LEADERSHIP of KEN BLANCHARD and MARK MILLER that the Leaders are serving their community. He must always have the will to SERVE well. For this he must Report the future, (have a vision), Engage people and make them grow (He must have the right people in the right role and fully involved), Constantly reinvent (the leader ceases to be a leader when he stops learning), Valorize the results and the relationships, Incarnate the Values and Reflect always in a word he must SERVE.

Tuesday, February 12, 2019 PLANETE PAIX proceeded at the Independent Electoral Commission, to the official presentation of the report of the Young Champions’ Summit for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development. The delegation led by the Central President was composed of Miss Ibo, Communications Officer and the Advisor for Partnership with the Institutions. The said Delegation was received by Mr. Adou Antoine, Technical Adviser to the President of the IEC. PLANETE PAIX, addressed words of thanks to the Institution for its contribution to the success of this international event which brought together one hundred and thirty-two (132) participants, from twelve (12) countries and three (3) continents on topical issues such as Election, Corruption, Climate Migration, Deforestation, Poverty Alleviation, Women Empowerment, Violent Extremism and Terrorism.

On Tuesday, February 12, 2019 Mr. Goua Koffi, Principal Commissioner of the High Authority for Good Governance of CΓ΄te d’Ivoire, received a certificate and a book on personal development for his contribution to the November 2018 Young Champions Summit as a panelist at the headquarters of the said Institution. PLANETE PAIX thanked Mr. GOUA for his communication on the subject: “Corruption and Money Laundering”. His communication built participants capacities and enriches the work.

The Young Champions’ Summit for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development, initiated by the NGO PLANETE PAIX saw the presence and contribution of one hundred and thirty-two (132) participants from twelve (12) countries and three (3) continents and has received significant support from the largest democracy in the world, the United States of America.
In addition to the financial support, 200 books on leadership and personal development were given to the participants in order to strengthen their capacities and boost their actions in the field.
As a result, PLANETE PAIX commended this action for peace and addressed its words of thanks to the donor. In addition, Mr. Daniel Langenkamp, Public Affairs Officer, was elevated to the rank of Honorary Member of the Young Champions’ Program for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development.

REFORM OF THE INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION

On Wednesday, January 30, 2019 Civil Society Organizations including PLANETE PEIX represented by President Achille COMOE and the Secretary of Communications Miss Annick IBO, APHD, WANEP, and CEFCI went to the offices of the Secretary of State for Human Rights in Cocody on the convocation of of the said Institution on the following agenda:
1- Proposals for reform of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC)
2- The involvement of civil society in raising public awareness of the electoral process
Regarding the first point, the Secretary of State invited members of civil society to make concrete proposals concerning the reform of the IEC for the peaceful elections in 2020. The proposals should allow Cote D ‘ Ivory to abide by the Articles 10 and 17 of the Charter of the African Union and Article 3 of the ECOWAS Charter. She also invited civil society to put together their proposals in order to speak with one voice.
Regarding the second and final point, the Secretary of State encouraged civil society for her quest for perpetual peace and invited her to become more involved in raising public awareness on electoral process by implementing activities to strengthen the capacity of civil society for this purpose.
