PLANETE PAIX IN THE PREMISES OF THE STATE SECRETARIAT FOR CIVIC SERVICE

On Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 10 am a delegation of PLANรˆTE PEIX proceeded to the official presentation of the Declaration of the Young Champions of November 2018, to the Secretary of State for Civic Service. This delegation led by the President of the Organization Mr. Achille COMOE was composed of Mr. Florent YAO and Miss Rose KOUAME. The members were received in audience by Mr. ASSUI Anderson (Cabinet Director), Mr. SIDIBE Bakary (Technical Adviser) and Mr. BAMBA Amadou (Study Officer). At this meeting, the Director of Cabinet Mr ASSUI, after welcoming the delegation, asked for the news. President Achille COMOE first thanked the Secretariat for its support during the summit. Afterwars, he presented the Young Championsโ€™ Program. In addition, the President requested the Secretariat’s support for future activities. He also pointed out that PLANETE PAIX will help the Secretariat in its mission. Continuing his intervention, the Principal Officer of the Organization informed his hosts that as part of the Peace Digital Elections Program, PLANETE PAIX is organizing in April 2019 an awareness campaign in the Regions of Grands Ponts and Gbรชkรจ. For the Secretary of State, PLANETE PAIX a highly-credible and respected organization. They will not hesitate a moment for this purpose to support its mission for the well being of the Society. A meeting is planned in the coming days with the Secretary of State for Civic Service who has been elevated to the rank of Honorary Member of the Young Championsโ€™ Program. He received for the occasion a book on leadership and personal development. This book, it should be noted is part of the 200 books received from the US Embassy in Cรดte d’Ivoire during the Summit.

PLANETE PAIX TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WORK ON THE VOLUNTARY NATIONAL REVIEW

As part of the contribution of the Civil Society in the work on the Voluntary National Review PLANETE PAIX participated on Friday March 03, 2019 in the Plateau District Hall to an information and communication workshop of civil society actors on the SDGs. The Organization was represented for the occasion by the President of COCODY M. KOI ALEX. For more efficiency of our actions consultations will be done as well in the economic capital that is to say in Abidjan as in the city of Bouakรฉ. At the end of these consultations, civil society actors will take part in a capitalization workshop. The President of ISCODD-CI emphasized the uniqueness of the Voluntary National Review. In other words, there is a single document to be presented in New York. This review will contain all the actions carried out by all the actors of Sustainable Development. To do this, these national consultations will be used to capitalize on the achievements and to collect the innovative experiences observed on the ground. The preparation of this document takes into account the following Sustainable Development Objectives : objectives 4-8-10-16-17 and the reports of other actors.

Our Country Cรดte d’Ivoire is one of the countries chosen this year 2019, to present their annual review. PLANETE PEACE will participate in the preparation of Cรดte d’Ivoire’s contribution to the place of volunteering in achieving the SDGs with UNDP with other CSOs. Indeed, as part of the monitoring of the SDGs, each year a number of States come to present their National Voluntary Review (RNV) on the occasion of the High Level Political Forum which meets in July at the United Nations Headquarters in Paris. New York. These reviews help to track progress in achieving the SDGs in countries, identify lessons learned and gaps. Each country will present at least two journals by 2030. In 2019, 51 countries will present their NVR. For each Forum, the United Nations identifies a specific theme around which national journals should focus, and SDGs to review. For 2019, the theme of the Forum is “Empowering People and Ensuring Inclusion and Equity” and a focus is on five SDGs: SDG 4 “Quality Education”, SDG 8 “Decent Work and Growth Economic Development “, SDG 13” Combating Climate Change “, SDG 16” Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions “and SDG 17” Partnerships for Achieving Goals “(SDG 17 is reviewed annually) .

The President of PLANรˆTE PAIX and the Members of the Central Executive Bureau express their congratulations to the Organizing Committee and their sincere thanks to US Embassy in Cรดte d’Ivoire, to the panelists, to all the Councilors , to the Presidents of the Sections, to the different Representatives as well as to all the participants for their mobilization, contribution, actual presence. The Celebration of March 09, 2019 was a great success. A beautiful celebration in color and rich in teachings. You wanted to make our 12 years of action unforgettable, you said it and you did it. For this celebration, PLANรˆTE PAIX chose to take a close look at the major current issues in Cรดte d’Ivoire, particularly those of human rights, the Ivorian school and the reform of institutions for management and control of elections.
A panel of discussion on the issue : “The need to reform all Election Management and Control Institutions, for a lasting peace in Cรดte d’Ivoire” allowed the participants to understand the challenges of the reform.
The panel was organized with the participation of 3 resource persons :
– Profesor Mamadou Koulibaly former President of the National Assembly of Cรดte d’Ivoire and former President of LIDER
– Dr. Molou Kouassi Angel Aristide author of the book ยซCรดte dโ€™Ivoire : Presidential Election (s) by 2020 issues, reviews and prospects
– Mr. Bamba Sindou Coordinator of the Platform of Civil Society Organizations for the Observation of the Electoral Process in Cรดte d’Ivoire (POECI)

PLANรˆTE PAIX celebrated International Women’s Rights Day with women. As part of the G7 Women’s Partnership, Peace and Security Initiative, the Embassy of Canada, the Embassy of France, and the French Institute in Cรดte d’Ivoire organized a screening. – Debate Garry Beitel’s film “In pursuit of peace”, Thursday, March 7 at the French Institute of Cรดte d’Ivoire, Plateau.
Following the screening of the film, a debate was organized with the participation of 3 resource persons :
– Maรฎtre Geneviรจve Diallo-Cissoko : President of the Peace and Security Network for Women in the ECOWAS Area – Cรดte d’Ivoire section (REPSFECO-CI)
