On August 30, 2018 a delegation of PLANETE PAIX composed of the Chairman Achille COMOE, the deputy chairman Steevens KODJANE and Miss Sisso Nina, the Secretary of PLANETE PAIX for mobilization went to Empow’her premises for a working session regarding the season 2 of the Young Champions Summit to be held on November 15, 16, 17, 2018 in Côte d’Ivoire. It should be noted that the above Organization works for women empowerment. It has thus decided to share its experience and know-how through an internship offer to about twenty participants of the program. She will also send an expert to communicate on the issue of empowering women.

On August 31, 2018, a PLANETE PAIX delegation composed of composed of the Chairman Achille COMOE, the deputy chairman Steevens KODJANE had a working session with GHG Reduction Leaders related to Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD +) in this case Mrs MEITE Maïmouna, monitoring and evaluation officer, and Ms Malika CAMARA, communication officer. Indeed, REDD + is an international outcome-based mechanism with 5 main activities:

1. Reduction of emissions due to deforestation;
2. Reduction of emissions due to forest degradation;
3. Sustainable forest management;
4. Conservation of forest carbon stocks;
5. Increase in forest carbon stocks.

It is a mechanism that has been set up in response to the challenges of deforestation and the fight against climate change. Côte d’Ivoire has been engaged in the REDD + mechanism since June 2011.

The meeting was about the content and terms of the partnership. Thus, the REDD + Leaders agreed. to welcome about twenty trainees in their premises to enable them to benefit from their hands-on experience and know-how. An expert will come to communicate on the following subject: “Climate change and involuntary migration: what implications for food security”

On Saturday, August 18, 2018, the Central Office of the NGO PLANETE PAIX met upon notice given by its Chairman Achille COMOE. One minute of silence was first and foremost, observed in memory of the former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the Nobel Peace Prize award. Then the President made a reminder of the history of the organization. After that, Mr. YAO KOBENAN and Miss ANGOTCHE EMANUELLA read the statutes and rules of procedure of PLANETE PAIX. After the reading, the President taking into account the necessity of the service, appointed a number of people before giving them the floor  to express themselves on the essential reasons that motivated their accession to PLANETE PAIX. To conclude, all the members made a commitment that they will do their best to adhere to the fundamentals and work for peace in Côte d’Ivoire and worldwide.
