Invited by the American Corner of Alassane Ouattara University and Planete Paix GbΓͺkΓ¨ Section on January 17, 2020 on the occasion of the American program “The book of the month”, the Central President of PLANETE PAIX made a presentation on the subject : “MARTIN LUTHER KING:” A COMBATANT FOR FREEDOM AND A PEACE WORKER “.
He indicated that the Champion of Peace, the King was influenced by the strategy of the political leader, important spiritual guide of India and of the movement for the independence of this country Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, born in Porbandar on October 2, 1869 and died assassinated in Delhi on January 30, 1948. Besides, King will experience April 4, 1968 the same fate as the latter.
For him, non violence is an effective tool for the emancipation of oppressed peoples in the sense that it allows the moralization of society and therefore of politics. But, its effectiveness lies mainly in the fact that it is a powerful instrument of victimization thus making it possible to attract sympathy, pity, compassion, the gaze of third parties but also of the executioner on oneself.
Non violence is moreover, above all the expression of the Divine, of our humanity and of our divinity for others, the expression of the goodness of God which through a look of love, a gesture of brotherhood, of friendship, a smile, etc. challenges the other me that I suffer, the author of my suffering, the other me who violates my rights and freedoms.
It was a moment of joy and communion with all the participants.
